The BSc (Hons) Nursing Top-Up programme is designed to build on the professional knowledge and skills of diploma level, qualified, and practising registered nurses.

This programme will enable students to build upon the current knowledge and practice base of a registered nurse, suitable for those who are looking to develop professionally and boost their qualifications to a UK degree level.

This programme has been designed to develop students’ critical thinking skills, reflecting, revisiting and build on their experiences in order to learn and develop more complex nursing theories and knowledges. This course is accredited by the Mauritius Nursing Council (MNC).

Completion of the course does not provide automatic registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), UK

This programme will:

  • Provide students with a rigorous, professionally orientated programme worthy of an honours degree.
  • Enable students to further develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, self-awareness, values, and understanding that will enable them to make professional judgements, which demonstrate insight into the theory and practice of nursing.
  • Enhance the role of the student as an effective, competent, confident, and innovative clinical practitioner.
  • Prepare the student for a continuing contribution to a changing health and social care system by promoting understanding of methods and environments of care.
  • Promote in the student the idea of continuing personal and professional development.
